The J. W. Vines Foundation,
Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) organization developed as an adjunct to the James
W. Vines, Jr. M.D. Medical Society (Vines Medical Society), a 501 (c)(6)
organization. The Vines Medical Society was granted a charter to
organize as a component of the National Medical Association and the
Golden State Medical Association in the Inland Empire.
The J. W. Vines Foundation, Inc. was created in part to
provide a vehicle to raise funds to support programs and activities that
provide underrepresented high school and college students from underserved
communities in the Inland Empire with a better understanding of the academic
requirements and skill sets necessary for admission to college and
professional programs in the health professions. The J. W. Vines
Foundation, Inc. is governed by a five (5) member board of directors and
focuses on addressing issues of preparation, students’ resources (i.e.
financial support), access and research. |
