| “Maximizing the Return on Your Scholarship Dollars”:
September 2002, the Foundation hosted a dinner forum bringing together
representatives from local community professional and social organizations
that present educational scholarships and grants to African-American
students. The diverse group included representatives from national and state
fraternities and sororities, boys and girls clubs, educators and business
leaders, took part in a lively discussion on best practices for leveraging
charitable dollars. How schools evaluate student financial need, how SAT &
ACT scores impact student access to higher education funding dollars and the
impact of community grants and scholarships on college students were among
the topics discussed. |
